Soap Rings

A beautiful concept by Hannah Louise Pittman.
She writes:
"The pieces also explore the concept of ‘what is precious?’ in relation to jewellery. Soap is not considered a coveted material. But does it become valued if you set it like a precious stone in a ring or a necklace – once time is put into it to create the form, and a connection is created between pieces and the wearer/washer?"

Kyeok Kim does a similar thing in her second skin series.
She writes:
"After washing your hands with the soap ring, the ring disappears becoming a scent. The jewellery leaves a fragrance, similar to a drop of perfume. It is a sensory experience becoming an unconscious ornament."
